2025 St. David’s Day Celebration
The Welsh Club of the Milwaukee Area celebrated St. David in style on March 1, 2025, with a luncheon at Three Pillars in Dousman, WI. This was the 90th St. David’s Banquet held in the Milwaukee Area, and it was great to see old friends and welcome new ones. Club president Scott Lange was our MC and led us through the afternoon’s activities. Past St. David’s Society of Waukesha presidents who were present, George Morris and Dan Pugh, were recognized. The Club took over St. David’s Day celebration responsibilities in 2007. Marilyn Schräder organized the music and accompanied us as we sang national anthems and a few Welsh favorites.
After a buffet lunch, we were entertained by a flute octet from UW Whitewater, led by the club’s 2022-2023 scholarship winner Hannah Frohne. They played “It Is Well with My Soul,” “O Pasi Sparsi,” “Finlandia” and “My Favorite Things.”
A short memorial service remembered those associated with the club who we lost in the last year. The afternoon’s activities wrapped up with the awarding of door prizes.
